On Tuesday April 8th, Efficiency Nova Scotia visited the apartment building to carry out an energy efficiency audit. This will help us to know how to make changes to reduce energy costs for our tenants. The recommendations include heat pumps for each unit, pipe wrapping and increased insulation.
Community First will explore funding options to switch tenants over to heat pumps. As well Community First was successful in receiving a grant from GFL to purchase garden beds for the property. They will be installed in spring 2026.
